ALL-GIRLS CLASSES

Enrol your daughter in all-girls classes within the public school system.

Come to Earl Grey School, and help your daughter prepare for the 21st century.  Our all-girls classes have a strong academic focus and emphasize math, science, and technology.

The research indicates that girls can benefit academically in an all-girls environment.  They can be encouraged to take risk and to develop positive self-esteem.

At Earl Grey School, we have all-girls classes in Gr. 7 and 8 only.  Option courses are co-ed and these include art, band, computer, and French.

The following are important components to the Earl Grey program:

  • An environment in which girls feel empowered to reach their full potential.
  • Relevant and accessible curriculum with instruction such that science, math, language arts, and health issues will be meaningful to female students.
  • Two state of the art computer labs with internet access, multi-media facilities, and more.
  • An active physical education program in which girls are encouraged to participate fully and develop a healthy attitude towards physical fitness through participation in classes, intramurals, and team sports.
  • Technology as an integral component of all programs, especially math and science.
  • An exemplary art program, which is a favourite amongst students.
  • A Middle Years Enrichment program in which students enjoy hands-on activities such as creating a newspaper, optics and illusions, Phys.Ed Leadership, and outdoor education.
  • Caring and committed teachers who know how to meet the educational needs of students.
  • Close communication between home and school; since Earl Grey is a small school, there is a high level of contact between staff, students, and parents.
  • An atmosphere where competition is healthy and students are prepared for higher education in the future.
