Those wishing to view digital stories created by students
or staff need only turn up their speakers and click on either the "Low
Speed" or "High Speed" link associated with the appropriate creation.
The "Low Speed" link provides access to a file which, on
average, is approximately one-third the size of the corresponding file
available using the "High Speed" link. Obviously, such access over the
Internet should be much quicker by comparison. The smaller "Low Speed"
file sacrifices some image quality and the display size is limited to only
a 320 x 240 pixel window. Those with the slower, dial-up Internet service may prefer
this option.
The "High Speed" link provides better image quality as the
display window of 640 x 480 pixels is four times larger. If Internet speed
and access is not a problem, the "High Speed" link would be the preferred
option.
lf, after clicking on either the High or Low Speed link on
a Windows computer and the Windows Media Player does not display the
digital story after a reasonable delay, one may need to download and
install
Microsoft's Media Player 7 or later. The latest version of Media Player,
together with
previous versions, for both Windows and Macintosh computers, can be
downloaded from:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/mp10/default.aspx
Now return to either the digital stories of the:
sit back ... and enjoy.
