At Children of the Earth we strive to incorporate Aboriginal values and perspectives into our everyday lives. We believe in a holistic approach to education that integrates the physical, academic, social and spiritual well being of our students. We recognize that our students have attitudes, desires and abilities that differ widely and that changing times present new challenges and demands. Hence, we believe that the basic purpose of education is to provide a pathway through which each individual may realize self-respect, self-fulfilment and their relevance in a dynamic society.
The pedagogy promoted at our school is culturally based, flexible and centred on the needs of the students. Our enrichment of current Manitoba Curricula to incorporate the Aboriginal Perspective works to strengthen both Canada and Aboriginal societies, as Peoples from the Four Directions learn how to work together in an honest, respectful, peaceful and trusting way on their mutual and distinct social goals.
