Clifton Elementary School is in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Clifton School is a Nursery to Grade 6 elementary school in The Winnipeg School Division. It is nestled in a quiet neighbourhood in the West  End of Winnipeg. We have an enrolment of 175 students and a total of 22 staff members.

In the book, Mosaic of Winnipeg Street Names, by J.B. Rudnyckyj, (Winnipeg: University of Manitoba, 1974) published in time for Winnipeg's Centennial Clifton Street is mentioned. Under the entry for "Clifton Street North", one is referred to the entry for "Clifton Place".

"[Vince] Leah quotes L. Gibbons as saying that the street derives its name from a "good solid English name". Clifton is a suburb of Bristol, England." [Vince Leah, Winnipeg Tribune, May 16, 1970] (p. 67)

The original Clifton School was situated on Spruce Street and Barrett Avenue in 1908 and was on the site now occupied by Isaac Brock School. The present school was built in 1949 and retains much of its original charm.

Clifton is a small school situated in a culturally diverse community. The parents in our community expect their children to work hard at school, and to be respectful and tolerant of each other. Our school is small and we get to know all the students and their families very well. The sense of belonging is very strong at Clifton School.
