Canada's history on-line gives you a new refreshing, view of history. Many of these websites are interactive as well as educational.  You can learn a topic in sequence or explore the different sub-topics in your own way.  As you find yourself in the history of your people, think about the role the internet plays in uniting the people of Canada and establishing identity.  This is more personal than clicking on a remote.

Early Canadiana - Online (ECO)  This is a valuable resource for our early history.  Some of the better non-subscription titles can be located in the web page of ECO collections.  The map page gives 5 older maps of Canada from 1763 to 1867.  The lesson plan page focuses on teacher ideas for each time period, with suggested ages.  The crossword has three sections for reference, game board and answers.  The senior exam is multiple choice and essay.  To compliment the "Canada in the Making", a Confederation test is available.  The biography page has many famous people in three sections: Constitutional Act 1791, Responsible Government, and Fathers of Confederation.  Other links include: Acts, Biographies, Essays, Glossary

National Library - Canadian Confederation web page includes Confederation for Kids and Towards Confederation.  This links to many excellent resources to track the history  leading up to Confederation.  There is a page for looking at each province and territory.  The People page is very extensive in referencing links By Name and By Province or TerritoryThe Maps 1667-1999 page links to 12 historical maps.
