Parent Volunteers

We have a large number of parent volunteers who help out at school each year.  They make a valuable contribution to our school. Each September, parents who are interested, indicate the type of volunteer activity in which they wish to take part. Volunteers are involved in such programs as:

Classroom Volunteer

Resource Program Volunteers

Library Volunteer Program

Speech and Language

bullet

Computer Program

bullet

Basic Motor

Occasionally parents give assistance for special events such as field trips, class projects, outdoor fun days.

 

Parent Advisory Council

PAC is a group of parents who volunteer their time to help enrich each student’s school life. At the first meeting in September a chairperson, secretary, treasurer and grade representatives are elected.  The principal and representatives of the staff attend the monthly meetings.  Meetings are held once every month and all parents are welcome to attend. The dates of the meetings are published in the monthly Newsletter.

The activities undertaken by the PAC are:

Discussion on any educational policies or concerns

Lunch program

bullet

Fund raising for school equipment and materials

bullet

Social activities - community barbecue

bullet

Information exchange between home and school

The PAC is an important and valuable aspect of the life of our school.
