Lunch Program
The following information outlines the process for the operation of our lunch program.
The lunch program is run by the Carpathia School Parent Teacher Organization. There is a fee for each child who stays. This fee pays for the duties performed by our lunch room coordinator(s), the purchase of supplies and activity materials. There is a microwave oven available for heating the children’s lunches. If lunches are to be heated in the microwave, please send lunches in microwave containers.
Periodically children are asked to stay for lunch to take part in activities initiated by the school (e.g. field trips, sports events, etc). On these days there is no lunch fee required, and children will not be eating in the lunchroom. Due to the increase in the number of children staying for lunch on these occasions the microwave is not available for use.
Before and After School Program and Carpathia Kid Care
"Carpathia Kid Care" is a non-profit, unlicenced before and after care program for the students of Carpathia School. Students from Grades 1 to Grade 6 are eligible to be registered in this program. Please not that since the program does not operate during regular school hours that the nursery and kindergarten students may only be registered on a very part-time basis. We receive no financial assistance from the school division and all fees collected will go towards staff salaries, program supplies and equipment. It is our intention to have one staff person per 15 students.
It is our goal to provide our parents/guardians with and alternate means of care for the students of the school, before and after regular school hours. We will provide a safe atmosphere for the students, one where both staff and students will treat each other with respect, courtesy and thoughtfulness.
Hours of Operation:
A.M.: 7:30 to 8:55
P.M.: 3:30 to 5:30 ( early dismissal days 3:00 to 5:30)
Inservice Day 7:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.
