Field Trips

A permission slip signed by a parent or guardian is required for any child leaving on a school-arranged field trip. If the field trip includes lunch, disposable containers are required.

Field trips are an important part of a child’s educational experiences. However, due to the need to provide a trip which will be safe for all children, cooperation must be expected. Participation will be based upon responsible behaviour.

Administering Medication in the School

School personnel cannot administer medication unless a letter from a medical doctor accompanies the request made by a parent. Forms are available upon request, from the school office. Students should not bring medication to school to take on their own.

Illness at School

It is requested that children who are ill remain at home until they have recovered. This will ensure a speedy recovery and hopefully curtail the spread of germs.

Parents will be notified by phone of any accident or illness at school. In an emergency situation, when a parent cannot be contacted, the school will phone for either an ambulance or taxi to take a child for medical attention at a hospital.
