The Winnipeg School Division Board Policy

The Board is committed to ensuring a safe environment for its students, employees, and other people within its facilities and those schools will be supported in enforcing this position. This policy clearly outlines behaviour expectations and consequences for inappropriate behaviour.

School Rules

The following outlines expectations, which help contribute to a safe, healthy and happy school environment for your children.

Your support in helping us with these expectations is appreciated.

The school patrols/crossing guards are essential to the safe movement of children to and from school.        Children are asked NOT to move to and from school until those times when the school patrols are on duty.

Children are not to leave the school grounds during school hours.

Lunch program children are not to leave the school grounds at lunchtime.

If a parent or guardian picks up a child during school hours, the school office is to be informed.

If a parent or guardian requests that a child be sent home before the usual closing time, a note is required to the  classroom teacher.

Toys and sports equipment should not be brought to school as the school supplies equipment. Toys or objects which could be dangerous to  children should not be brought to school. Valuables such as       radios or jewelry should not be brought to school.

Clothing appropriate for a school is expected on regular school days. A pair of shoes or runners should be left at school to be worn during the winter months as boots are not to be worn in the classrooms.

The school telephone is to be used by students for emergency calls only.
