Long ago there lived two boys. Their mother told them never to go in the basement. One day they went in the basement. They found a hole in the wall. One boy stuck his hand in the hole. Something bit his hand. He was crying. The mother came downstairs and said "what’s going on here?" The spider ran back into the hole. 

After awhile the spider started pulling pranks. When the spider ran in the hole two spirits put a fly in the spider’s web. The spider ran out to get it. Just then the two spirits grabbed him and gave him eight legs. 

And that’s how the spider got eight legs.
