Lunch Programs

Brock Corydon School Lunch Program
Brock Corydon’s Lunch Program is a service provided by the Parent Advisory Council to supervise children during the lunch hour. All Grade 1-6 students are eligible for the program which runs daily in the gym with a few exceptions when children eat in their classrooms.  The fee is $21.00 per child per month.  There is a discount for families with three or more children . Part time pay-as-you go students are charged $1.25/day.

We are striving to have 9 paid staff and 2-3 PASCAL parents working in the program.  The school receives a milk grant and milk is provided to those children that want it.

If your child is remaining at school for lunch, payment is required for their supervision. If you are in need of financial support for this program you may contact the Lunch Program Coordinator.

PASCAL Program (Parents Are Supervising Children At Lunch)
Parents may apply to be part of the P.A.S.C.A.L. program.  This is a "work in lieu of full payment" program. Yearly fees are reduced to $60 and parents are required to work one lunch hour per month and attend a mandatory orientation at the beginning of the fall term. Forms are sent out in April with more details about the program.  Each year you must apply.

Once a PASCAL parent has participated in the program for two consecutive full years, they may be required to take a one year break. Applicants will be chosen by way of lottery and sorted according to the categories outlined:

bullet

new applications to the program and those who have not served a two year term

bullet

waiting list applicants

bullet

those parents who have served two years

We usually accept about 45 parents, but it depends upon the budget.

Hot Lunch and Pizza Lunch Programs
These programs run once a month from October – June and participation is optional.  They are run completely by volunteers and are separate from the Brock Corydon School Lunch Program. Order forms are sent out in September and January.  Food is ordered in from a number of places.  The children eat in their classrooms and then go outside.  Teachers supervise the hot lunches and the regular Lunch program staff supervise the children during pizza lunch days.  These are small fundraisers and the money is divided up among the teachers for them to spend in their classroom.
