and the Division. Niji Mahkwa (N-8) and Children of the Earth (Grades 9-12)
offer the regular academic program in a setting which emphasizes Aboriginal
languages and culture. R. B. Russell (Grades 9-12) is a Vocational High School
offering academic and vocational courses and Argyle Alternative High School
(Grades 10-12) is a small alternative high school (up to 160 students) offering the
regular academic program for students who might not be as successful or
comfortable studying in a large high school.
The focus of the schools in the Inner City district is on the academic
success of the students. A full range of programs is offered by dedicated
staff in safe and productive learning environments. The schools serve
children and families from many different backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs who
work together in a spirit of harmony and mutual respect.
