The Central District serves a geographic area located in the West End of the
city, west of Arlington to Polo Park and Elmwood.
The Central District has eleven Nursery to Grade 6 schools, two of which are
English Program/French Immersion dual track schools. There is also a
French milieu school, Sacre-Coeur, which provides programming in French from
Nursery to Grade 8. There are three Nursery to Grade 9 schools: Cecil
Rhodes, Isaac Brock, and Sargent Park. There are four high schools:
Elmwood (Grades 7-12), Daniel McIntyre Collegiate Institute (Grades 9-12)Technical Vocational High School (Grades 9-12) and the Winnipeg Adult Education
Center (Grades 9-12).

The Adult ESL program and the Adolescent Parent
Centre fall under the jurisdiction of the Winnipeg Adult Education Centre. The Central District also assumes responsibility for Interdivisional Student
Services which oversees education programs in institutions like Health Sciences
Centre and Villa Rosa, the Manitoba Adolescent Treatment Program, the Diagnostic
Learning Centres and tutoring services.
