Mrs. Schon We have 28 students in our class and we
are interested in communicating regularly with another grade
three class in another province or country. We are learning about
our community and we would like to share our information with
another class and learn about their community as well.
Mrs.
Dawson and Mrs. Einarson - Visit us at the library.
Mrs. Bevan -
My class has many students from various cultural
backgrounds. Many of the students communicate in at least two languages.
Mr. Lambert (ICT Mentorship / Computer Teacher - Junior High)
(See PC
Lab 10s article). The IT Lab started in the Fall of 1992 with
26 - 386/25 MHz workstations. In the Spring of 1995, World Book Information Finder
CD-ROM, and Middle Search CD-ROM were
installed. In the summer of 1997, a Pentium lab was installed and
the 'old' 386's were moved to the library to set up a Word
Processing and Online resource centre. In 1998, 'The Learning
Equation' was installed. With network saving of work in specific
folders and drives, all Junior High students can really get to
their program files from many different computers around Sargent
Park! In 2002, MS Office 2000 was installed and now all 32 computers have Word,
Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and PhotoEditor. In June 2005, the lab
received the Dell computers from the library.
The lab is open from 8:00 to 4:30, with the last hour for student
assignments, research, keyboarding practice time, and Internet.
Lunch time is fun time with music, games, net-mail, assignment work, and Safe-Surfing.
