The Boy Who Loved Hockey 

        One day there was a boy named Brian who loved hockey. He was 11 years old. He had a mom and a dad but no brothers or sisters. On Friday when Brian was ice skating he met a boy named Kenny who was the same age as Brian but a month older. He also only has a mom and dad but no brothers or sisters.

Then they started to play against each other. No one won but they were both good at hockey. They had another game. No one won. It was 5 to 5. After awhile they both went home.

The next Friday they went back to met each other. When they were skating two other boys came. They were brothers. One was named Greg and he was 12 years old. One was Alex and he was 11 years old. They were teasing Brian and Kenny.

They wanted to play a hockey against Brian and Kenny. They started by making the rules: You have to hit the posts to score. You have to do clean hits. There was no two line passes, no going offside no icing, and no fighting.

When they started the game they did shot first. It was close in the first half - 3 to 3. When they started the second half they did shot for first again. At the end of the half Brian’s team was winning. When they got to the end of the third half Brian’s team was winning. Brian’s team won 6 to 5.

When the game was over Greg’s team said they wanted a rematch. Kenny said sure but we make it will have to be tomorrow.

“Ok,” said Greg “But we make the rules this time.”

 Kenny said, “O.k.”

On Sunday Kenny and Brian said came over earlier than they were to come. They came at 10:00am. They could practice for their game. They practiced their basic skills like hitting, shooting, skating, deeking, puck handling. They did drills. When they only had 10 minutes left they rested and stretched. Then it was time to start the game.

When they were about to start the game with only one minute to go they changed the rules: there is checking, there is two line passing, there is icing, there is offside, and there is fighting.

They started the game. They finished the first period and then second ended. By the third Greg’s team was winning by one point. With one minute left Kenny scored and then the game was over.   Brian went to Kenny’s to meet his parents and then went home at 7:00.

On Monday after school Brian and Kenny went ice skating but they saw Greg and Alex. Greg said, “Do you wont to have a hockey game for fun.”

Kenny said,” Sure but play by my rules this time ok.”

 Greg said,” OK”

Alex said “OK”

They started the game. In the second period Greg’s team was winning by one. Then when they got to the third period Greg’s team won. Then everyone went home.
