Once upon a time there was a man named Jack Frost. He was the man that makes the snow come from the sky. One morning he was putting frost on his friend’s house when he saw a bright yellow ball in the sky. He had never seen that ball in the sky before.

Jack didn’t know what it was, so he went up onto the roof of his friend’s house and said to the yellow ball, ” Hi, who are you?”

The ball said, ”I am the sun.”

Jack Frost jumped down from the roof of the house and started making frost again but all of the frost began melting. Jack didn’t know what was happening. He went back on the roof to ask the sun what was happening.

The sun was busy doing something. Jack said, ”What are you doing?”

The sun said. ”Melting the snow and frost.”

Jack had to stop him! “Why are you doing that?”

”Because,” said the sun, “People don’t like the snow that you make.”

Jack Frost was sad. He said, ”People don’t like it when it is too hot outside either.”

The sun looked down. He did not think that Jack would talk to him. Jack told him his idea. The sun liked it a lot. They went to see if the cloud would help them with the idea.

The cloud liked the idea. They would take turns making rain, making snow, and bringing sunlight to the earth. They called it the four seasons. Summer was for the sun.  Winter is for Jack Frost. Spring and autumn are for the clouds and the sun because winter is a long time.
