1. What is your first name and what is your profession?

My name is Teresita and I am a seamstress and a sewing machine operator.

2. What does your job consist of?

My job consists of sewing pants at Nigard International in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

3. Does your job involve using mathematics in any way?

Yes my job involves using mathematics.

4. In what way do you use mathematics in you job?

I have to measure fabrics for different sizes and styles. I also have to let the company know how many hours and minutes I work each day.

5. When you were in school did you ever think you would use mathematics in your everyday life and in your job?

I knew that in any job I chose I would have to use some form of mathematics.  I knew that mathematics was important and I insist that my children work hard in school especially mathematics so that they can get good paying jobs in the future.
