    Yes.

In order to analyze inventory data and detect anomalies, I need to be able to understand the numbers that go into creating the data and undertake various mathematical simulations/calculations to solve the problem. Such calculations range from simple to complex.

When you were in school did you think you would use mathematics in your everyday life and in your job?

No I did not. As with many things you learn in school, you don't realize the value of specific subject areas as a lot of the knowledge you gained, you apply intuitively in your home life and job. Examples are:

bulletMathematics (problem resolution involving numbers, accounting, forensic audits, etc)
bulletLanguage arts (helps in creating effective, well written office memorandums, policies, Procedural documentations, etc)
bulletMulti-tasking (helps to better prioritize workload demands on the job)
bulletClass presentations (helps with real life presentations in a meeting)
bulletTeam projects (helps with working with teams in the office, conflict resolution, etc.)
