Trade Goods

The fur trade was an equal trade between Aboriginal people and the Europeans who came to this continent. Beaver pelts, along with the furs and skins of many other animals, were traded for new manufactured goods the Europeans brought with them. On each, value was seen in the new products. Rifles, muskets, blankets, metal goods of all kinds were quickly adopted by the local peoples, replacing the old ways.
