Back Home Up

I put the braid because they say it stands for good luck.

I put the drum because they can use it in a pow wow.

I put the sun because the sun is important to Natives and also I like to call it the Spirit Sun.

I put this symbol because they call it the medicine wheel.

I put feathers because they use it on their  head dress and they think feathers are important. Cheynenne

In the middle of the two top corners-is the sun which is very important because they needed sun light for the plants to grow and they needed heat to keep them warm.
In the top corners-are the eagle and the bear and they are there because they are on the totem pole that would represent family/clan. In the bottom- there is a tipi because the Aboriginal used to live in them, and the totem pole is there to represent their family, in the top corners are Nabash books that the Aboriginals read. There are three canoes there because they used to use them to get to places in them.  Robyn

On my shield there is a drum. The drum represents dancing. There is a maple leaf and also suns around the sides on my shield.
