In the beginning of the novel, all the children were going to school. They had a small school. The town they lived in is Famish Gut. In school they are learning how to spell the town’s name. Fanny does not like the town’s name.

In the middle of the novel, they were studying. They have lots of homework. At recess they play HOCKEY! Fanny gets made fun of. Sarah is the best player on the team. Fanny and her friends are practising.

At the end of the novel Fanny was writing a letter to the government. She was writing that she could change the name. She wanted it to be Fairy Glen. Her grandpa made her not change the name.

My favorite part was when she was writing the letter because she did not like the name "Famish Gut". I thought she would get in trouble for writing the letter. WHY because it was crazy and it was probably 1 against 2000. I did not think she would be able to change the name.
