Beans On The Roof

By Betsy Byars

In the beginning of Beans On The Roof George ran into the kitchen "MAMA! MAMA!" said George.

"Don’t yell" said Mrs. Bean.

"But I have to shout. Anna is on the ROOF!"

"I know she is on the roof. She is writing a poem."

"What!"

"That’s right it is the only place for her to write her poem."

"Can I go on the roof?"

"NO!" said Mrs. Bean.

"Why?"

"Because you will bother her so!"

In the middle George begged until his mouth would fall out. "Anna," said George "I can come on the roof?"

"Be quiet" said Anna"

"But I want you to hear my poem."

"Fine! Here it comes. The cat sat on a hat. The hat got flat."

In the end Anna ran into her room crying so George said "ANNA GET OUT OF THE ROOM!!!!!" and so she did.

My best part was when George was asking to go on the roof because it was funny.
