In the beginning of Fanny for Change Fanny was at school
and she was sitting beside her friend Milly. She was writing about what
she had done over the summer holidays. Then she went out to play
baseball. She was waiting for her turn. When she got home she was so mad
because a girl named Sarah and the girls at school were calling her
Fatty and she had to write Famish Gut every day.
In the middle of Fanny for Change all of Fanny’s
mother’s friends came over and were talking about different things.
Then Fanny’s uncle was talking about fairies and how he believes in
them but everyone made fun of him. When winter came Fanny and her
friends were playing hockey on a pond behind the school but she wasn’t
very good. Of course Sarah was in charge.
At the end of Fanny for Change Fanny was playing
hockey and she got mad at Sarah. Now she had learned to play hockey. She
was just as good as Sarah was. When they were playing she passed it to
Sarah and hit her in the stomach. She was really hurt.
My favourite part of Fanny for Change was when
the men were playing hockey. It wasn’t the winter and Fanny invited
her friends over to her house to listen to the game. When she got home
all of her relatives were there listening to the game so her friends had
to stand outside. When Famish Gut scored everyone went crazy. They all
were really happy.
