In the beginning of the novel, a little girl named Greta
loved the fog. She would watch the fog out the window. She lives in a
village at the foot of a mountain beside Blue Cove. It was really foggy
there. Sometimes she walks in the fog, but her parents never liked her
going in the fog.
In the middle of the novel, a sailor named Anthony was
found ashore at Blue Cove. Mrs. Morril said that people think that a
surgeon took his Adam’s Apple out. But most people say that he speaks
another language.
At the end of the novel, Greta was asking Christine
Frost, her next door neighbour, what it felt like on her 12 birthday.
Greta’s family had a picnic at the beach in Blue Cove. When they were
about to leave, Greta went to Mrs. Morill’s house to remind her it was
her 12 birthday. Mrs. Morill gave Greta a little gray kitten. Then she
went to her father and asked if she could have a kitten and her father
said yes.
My favourite part was when Mrs. Morill gave Greta a
little gray kitten because I like kittens and because I thought that was
the sweetest part in the novel and because it was the last time Greta
got to see Mrs. Morill. Mrs. Morill treated Greta like her own child. It
was nice of Mrs. Morill to give Greta a kitten.
