Cassandra’s Driftwood

By Budge Wilson

In the beginning Cassandra lived in a small fishing village. In the village there were fifteen fish houses and thirteen wharves. Cassandra was very shy and she didn’t like to tell people things. At school she didn’t have any friends.

In the middle Cassandra and her father found a piece of driftwood. Cassandra’s father lifted the driftwood onto the land. Cassandra made GOOD friends with that driftwood. She played with it and dressed it up.

One evening Cassandra’s babysitter gave the driftwood away to some teenagers. The teenagers were going to make a bonfire on the beach. Cassandra ran down to the beach, climbed up on the woodpile and said " This is my driftwood! " and told the teenagers to bring the driftwood down. Cassandra got her driftwood back.

The part I like best was when Cassandra wasn’t afraid to tell people things anymore. She made friends and made a best friend.
