Claymations 11

Fanny For Change

by Jean Hayes Feathers

In the beginning of the book Fanny is at school ,and she is treated harshly at school because of her classmate Sarah. Sarah always calls Fanny Fatty. During recess most of the kids play baseball. Fanny always gets picked last when they pick teams. As Fanny is at bat, Sarah makes fun of Fanny. Sarah tried to encourage Fanny but in a mean way. Sarah says, "Come on Fatty!" This makes Fanny feel offended.

In the middle of the story Fanny joins the hockey team with Sarah and her friends, Fanny’s best friend Milly King. While practicing, Sarah keeps calling Fanny Fatty just to get Fanny’s attention. Fanny was so mad that she aimed the puck at Sarah and slapped the puck at Sarah’s stomach. Next thing she knew she was on the ground groaning.

At the end of the book Fanny’s dad sees a light. He finds out it’s a boat in the storm. He calls the people in Famish Gut to help the people in sinking boat. The townspeople get the equipment for rescuing the people. When Fanny’s dad fishes out a crew member they take care of him because he is bleeding. They call an ambulance in St. John’s.

My favorite part was when the people were drowning. There is a storm and the boat sinks. The people jump off the boat for their lives. After awhile, the storm becomes a hurricane. The people in Famish Gut help the crew. Fanny and her family calls an ambulance to help a bleeding man. This is my favorite because it is scary and interesting.
