Lunch Program

Many of our children come to school on the school bus so they have to stay at school for lunch.  Like all schools in the division, we have a parent-run lunch program.

Every child attending the lunch program must be registered with the school lunch coordinator.  At the beginning of each school year, the lunch coordinator sends out registration forms for parents/guardians to fill  and return to the school.  At any other time during the year, registration forms can be picked up at the school office.
All children bring their own lunches.  The parents' monthly fees go towards paying the parents who supervise the children during the lunch hour.   Children can buy small milk containers for 10 cents a container.  Food that children bring from home can also be heated up in the microwave ovens.

    Permission to Leave School Grounds

Children will not be allowed to leave the school grounds during school hours unless there is a written request or a phone call from the parents/guardians.   This rule also applies during the noon hour for those who are in the lunch program.

It is a parent/guardian's responsibility to advise the transportation department when bused children are absent or have to leave early in the school day.

Parent Teacher Organizations

Every year at our Meet the Teacher Night in late September, parents have their annual general meeting and a new Parent Council is elected.  The Parent Council meets once a month in the school staffroom.  Members of the  Parent Council work with the school on ideas that will help the functioning of the school.   All parents are welcome to attend the meetings.  An added responsibility for the Council is to oversee the school lunch program.
