Reminders to parents:

1. With the onset of the cold weather we are expecting an increasing number of parents requesting that their children be allowed to stay indoors rather than go outside for recess. As you know, it is our philosophy to encourage the students to participate in all activities including outdoor recess. Unless exceptions are absolutely necessary, we intend to continue this practice. Also, please ensure that your children are dressed appropriately for the cold weather.
   

2. In the event it is necessary to close the school, due to severe weather conditions, the following procedures will apply:
   
   a) The decision to close the schools and the Administration Building will be made by the Chief Superintendent in consultation with the Chairperson of the Board
   
   b) The Chief Superintendent will communicate the decision to:
   (i) Our Transportation Supervisor, who will arrange for the cancellation of school bus transportation.
   (ii) Ms. Linda Wilson, Information Officer, who will inform the media.
   
   c) Parents and staff should listen carefully to the radio for an announcement. The announcement will be broadcast over the following radio AM and FM stations.

Please keep in mind that there are days when school bus transportation may be cancelled but schools will remain open. Please listen carefully to any radio announcements in this regard.
