Once upon a time there was a Great Horned Owl and four eggs. The owl was named Mike. The mother was dead and Mike had to watch over the eggs. It was a hard job for Mike. The very next day the eggs hatched. The babies were very hungry so Mike caught a Saw- Whet Owl and fed it to the babies. Mike was a very strong owl. With his weight of 1 650 grams and a wing span of 152 cm he could catch big animals! The next day it was very cold. Mike had to stay in the nest for most of the day. He hunted on that very cold night. The next morning Mike did not come back to the nest. Mike did not come at all. Finally, the babies saw the first glimpse of an owl. But it was not Mike. It was late at night and the chicks went to sleep. The next morning the chicks felt warm, Mike was sitting on the chicks. Later on Mike went hunting again. He caught a Northern Goshawk. A female owl saw him catch the Goshawk and Mike met his match. They fell in love and she helped Mike raise the chicks.
