Bruno The Bear
By Riel

One day there was a little girl who decided to take a walk. Her family had just moved to this location along with a whole bunch of other people from her group. She was an aboriginal and had traveled a lot but she didn’t mind it, in fact she loved it. Plus it was easy to move around since she lived in a tipi. When she was walking to see her new location, she heard something in the bush, she thought it was an enemy. She was way too far to run back home. She had no choice but to keep walking. As she got farther and farther she heard the same noise as she did before (in the bush). She decided to take a look. As she headed to the bush a huge bear came out. She decided not to run because it looked friendly, (though her mom always told her never to touch wild animals they may look friendly but they aren’t all the time). She didn’t listen, instead she went and started to chase the bear. She touched it then he chased her, he knew how to play tag. Later she played hide and seek and he knew how. Since she was having so much fun she totally forgot about the time and it was getting dark. She didn’t want to get her mom worried. She said good-bye to Bruno for the night then ran home. She decided not to tell anyone about Bruno because she didn’t think anyone would approve. Four weeks after playing with Bruno everyday it was time to move again. She begged her mom to stay in this location forever. This was her favourite place. She had never had a best friend before since she was the only kid in the group. She loved Bruno and never wanted to leave him again. Her mom replied that part of life is discovering new things. Days later they were all ready to move to another place, she gave Bruno the biggest hug ever. Bruno was a special bear, no bear plays tag and hide and seek but Bruno. Well, she never heard of anyone doing that. She would always remember Bruno, she’d never ever forget about him. She was super sad to move but she knew that she have to move. Twenty years passed and that little girl is now an adult. She travels to schools dancing, playing games , singing and telling stories. Teaching people about the aboriginal culture and she never forgets to tell the story about the bear who played hide and seek and tag…Bruno!!
