Why the Panda Has Two Colours
One ancient day in the forests of Canada a black bear
roamed through the trees looking for prey. As it glanced around it saw a
leaping rabbit, white as the snow surrounding it. The bear, knowing that
the rabbit was too fast and too shifty paused for a second weighing out
his options. He knew that if he didn’t catch the rabbit that he would be
exhausted and even if he caught two rabbits the next day it would not be
able to fill up his massive stomach. He launched himself through the
heavy forest dodging trees, he was running the fastest that he had ever
travelled. Because of his astonishing speed within seven seconds he was
within two metres and was continuing to gain land on his prey. The
rabbit led the bear up a hill that must have been at least thirty metres
tall and the bear knew that the hill would be even steeper on the way
down and slick because of the nearby water shore. The first step that
the bear took on the downhill he slipped on the ice and began to fall on
his backside. Half way down the hill he tried to gain grip by turning
around to the other side of his back. The plan failed and he continued
to slide down and down until he luckily landed softly on powdered snow.
He felt his back burning so he looked to his back and noticed that it
had been stained by the snow during his fall. And now the panda’s back
is ivory white.
