Style
1. The Library Support Services Secretary is responsible for overall
style, theme, design and layouts, after consultation with web team.
2. Style guides will be maintained in writing, kept up to date,
and implemented for at least a year at a time to ensure continuity. View current Style Guide.
3. Layouts and color schemes may be revised and changed periodically, but no more frequently than every six months to
ensure continuity.
4. Hierarchy of pages and navigational structures will be clearly
indicated and maintained, through the use of buttons, shared borders and a link to the top
of the page for long, textual pages.
5. Only web-safe, non-dithering colors will be used (see www.lynda.com/hexh.html).
6. Images will be in gif format to maximize compression or in jpeg format to maximize quality
Links - General
Links to outside sites will be accompanied by an abstract where appropriate. A courtesy
email will be sent to the site: 1) informing them of the link, 2) inviting them to visit
the LSS site and preview our abstract, and 3) providing the URL of the page in question.
