This activity is contained in one Student Writing Center file, "CLOZE1.RP". If you wish to access this file, please click on this link CLOZE1.RP. For use on a network, this file should be installed in a shared, read only directory on the server(WSD#1 uses S:/2Student). This template has been installed in a  folder for Grade 5 students. Work can be saved to the server ( WSD#1 uses T:/ 2Teacher). Work could also be printed when complete. After launching Student Writing Center access:

At this time the template will appear and students will see a story they must complete using the word list from the bottom of the page.

Students should be instructed to do the following:
Read the entire writing and then choose the word that best fits the sentence.
Students then highlight the line where they will type the missing word.
CLICK in front of the line
DRAG across the whole line
CLICK on the underline tool item
TYPE in correct word
If the line is not highlighted, the word they type will appear in front of the line not on it.
When complete, students save or print.
