Demonstate to the class : the one penny and two penny stamp used to post letters long ago, at this URL:

Using Paint set Image Attributes to 100 by100 pixles.
Students will  recreate a penny farthing stamp using paint drawing tools and allowing room for their own name at the bottom.

Stamps can be printed out and cut and pasted on to an envelope for "mailing" to classroom post box. (also see "Letters to Grandma" Activity)

Copies of classroom stamps can be archived in a stamp collection on paper or to a web page. Label as 1998 to view with next years.

Additional copies of "stamps" can be made and sold at the General Store set up in the classroom for the Pioneer unit.
