A Canada Map csmap.bmp is stored on a shared/read only
directory (2 Student Drive - S:\2Student) on the server. Students can either
research various provinces and place names appropriate to the Canadian Shield ahead of
time or you may give them a print out of the place names you would like them to find
and type on the map. An example is Csmap2.wps. To download this file, click on this link CSMAP2.WPS.
Students either have a program such as World Book up and ready to use on their computer if
available in their lab or a hard copy of an atlas that they can refer to for information.
Students are asked to Click on Red in the color box so that their printing will be easy to
read and mark. Then they go to View and click on the color box to remove it and so
allow more of the screen to show. Students are then asked to click on the Text
Tool in the Tool Box and then draw a box over the area which they wish to label. They may
wish to go to View/ Text Tool bar to ensure they have Times New Roman and no larger
than size 12.
When the students have finished they raise their hands and their work is marked on line.
