A sample activity sheet created in
Microsoft Publisher '97 including detailed student
instructions is available for download. These instructions
can be modified, copied and distributed to students.
Students are asked to open Sound Recorder software and record a
sentence e.g. "Sound is a series of vibrations moving as
waves through air. People can hear when their ears detect
the sound waves."
Students view the representations of sound waves in the Sound
Recorder software and copy part of what they see.
Students are then instructed to try the different Effects (in
Windows '95 only) such as Increase Speed, Add Echo, Reverse, Etc.
Recordings are saved for students to share with friends and
family.
Extension: Students can listen to the different files in
the Windows, Media sub-directory.
