Using Student Writing Center, or any other suitable word
processing program, the students write their stories and research
reports. These are edited, using the various tools and options
available for the purpose, and saved either on the students
own disk or under the class subdirectory on the T drive of the
server.
Using a drawing program, the students illustrate their stories,
and reports. The tools and options of the program are available
for their use. Outline or coloured drawings will be determined by
the printer available in your lab. These files are saved. Using
the copy and paste features of the program, the students copy
their picture and insert it into their word processing file and
print out a final copy.
If you have access to the Internet the students may do some on
line research for their project. A word of caution: You should
research the student topics prior to this activity and establish
Bookmarks for use in this activity. Students, using one or more
of the established Bookmarks, are free to follow through on their
research outline for the information, illustrations, charts etc.
that may be needed in their report. Notes are made as to where
the information was found and who did the original presentation.
This material will become part of the Bibliography for the
project.
Extensions: (Literature
Links, Further Explorations, etc.)
Once the process is established the students are encouraged to
use it in all presentations across the curriculum.
