This math lesson is one of many activities planned for the lead up to the Pan Am Games in Winnipeg, in 1999.  In this activity, students are provided with a chart and directions for selecting sporting events for the Pan Am Games.  Students will need to get onto the internet, and access the Pan Am Games site, at: www.panamgames.org

At the bottom of the site, students can click on "Tickets", and then click on "Calendar" in order to find out what events are available on what dates.   Students are informed that they have $250 to spend on tickets, but they may go to whatever events they would like.  In the chart, there is a column for ticket price, as well as total.  Students may choose to buy more than one ticket to that event, which is why a "Total" is provided in each row.
