This activity is contained in one Paint file, "PATHALL1". For use on a network, this file should be installed in a shared, read only directory on the server (WSD#1 uses S:\2Student). If you wish to download this file, click on this link pathall1.bmp.
After launching Paint and opening the file, children can then be directed to create teacher and/or student derived patterns. For example, to create an ABC pattern, direct children to do the following:
Capture the apple and the word apple with one of the
scissor tools.
EDIT
COPY
EDIT
PASTE
Drag the copied item into the white space in the lower half of the screen.
Repeat steps 1-6 until the core of the pattern (A, B, & C) is complete.
Capture the core of the pattern with one of the scissor tools.

PASTE
Drag the core of the pattern into the white space in the lower half of the screen.

Drag the core of the pattern into the white space (again) in the lower half of the screen.
The core of the pattern is now repeated three times.
Have the child(ren) put their name(s) on the screen using the text tool.

particular pattern.
