Description:
Students are introduced to the basic food groups using a paint
program. They must graph the foods into the appropriate
categories.

Details:
Copy the bitmap file "Food1.bmp" and
"Graph1.bmp" into a read only drive/folder on the
server. Complete the activity "Classifying Food Products
1."
1. Open Food1.bmp and Graph 1.bmp.
2. Select a food product (i.e. carrot) from Food1.bmp
using the scissor tools.
3. Click Edit... Click Copy
4. Alt-Tab to Graph1.bmp
5. Give the graph a title
6. Key in the variables i.e. Names of each food group
on the horizontal axis; numbers on the vertical axis.
7. Click Edit... Click Paste
8. Drag the image onto the graph
9. Resize the image to fit into the square. To do
this, move the mouse onto the image. When a double arrow appears
drag the object's perimeter to
resize it.

called food1.bmp, click on this link food1.bmp.
If you wish to download the image shown below, click on this link
graph1.bmp.
Extensions: This file can be adapted to graph other objects. For example, in a "Bear Unit", one may wish to graph the types and number of bears. Change the variables to customize the graph.
