Details:
Copy the bitmap file "Food1.bmp" into a read only
drive/folder on the server. Introduce the basic food groups with
students. Use various tools and colors to identify and classify
food products.
Extensions: This file can be adapted to a number of grade levels. Below are some suggestions.
Early / Primary Years (K - Gr. 3):
1. Use various tools to
classify the food products.
2. How many belong to the breads and cereals group?
3. How many belong to the meat and alternatives group?
4. How many belong to the dairy group?
5. How many belong to the fruits and vegetables group?
Primary / Middle Years (Gr. 4 - 8):
1. Use various tools to
classify the food products.
2. Name the four food groups.
3. Which food group has the least number of products?
4. Which food group has the most number of products?
5. Calculate the percentage of products in each group?
6. Open a another MS Paint application.
Alt-Tab between programs to select and sort the food products into the food groups.
