WELCOME TO OUR SCHOOL!

We are an Elementary School (Nursery to Grade 6) of approximately 250 students in the Winnipeg School Division.

Our children, parents and staff form a strong community of learners and educators. Working together, we use a wide variety of teaching strategies and resources to help our children master the provincially mandated curricula and acquire life-long learning skills.

Learning is not restricted to just the children. Supported by the school division and the provincial education department, our staff continues to learn about new curricula, current research about how children learn, effective teaching and assessment strategies and behaviour management techniques.

Volunteers are welcome and receive training from the division's coordinators.

Parent council operates a daily lunch program for students, monthly meetings and a parent resource library.

For more information  please contact the school.

Principal's Message

At Kent Road, we strive to help each child to be the best they can be.  We are committed to improving students' learning, creating a safe school environment, generating a feeling of belonging among all students and strengthening links among school, parents and community.

Our priorities for the 2009-2010 school year include improving math instructional and assessment strategies to improve student learning in math, continuing to implement the provincial Literacy with Information and Communication Technologies document and to strengthen our Aboriginal/Character education initiatives.

In June, 2009 our school was awarded the TOBA Award and the Gold Award from the Canadian Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance in recognition for our quality physical education program.

In November 2006, our brand new play structure became a reality.  To our parents, students and staff, thank you for your commitment to a project that has enriched our school community.
