 Library

Isaac Brock School Library and the adjacent Computer Lab constitute our INFORMATION CENTRE.  Our library collection, accessed through a computer catalog, includes over 8,000 items: books, magazines, kits, videos, CD-ROMS and computer software. Internet access is available on all computers in the Library, with access to Winnipeg Public Library and Manitoba Education and Training Library. Our library is staffed with a Library Clerk, who shelves our books and checks out books for the classroom. Our Millenium Mural, created by our 400 students and staff is the focal point of the library.

MISSION STATEMENT

To ensure that students and staff acquire the skills to find, use and share information and ideas, empowering them to become lifelong learners.

Our School Library Program is based on current Manitoba Education and Training policy:

"Students in Manitoba schools should have access to a school library program that is integrated with the school's instructional program. This integration of classroom and school library is fundamental to the resource-based learning model which is essential to student achievement of the Learning Goals for Manitoba." (1995)
