Landmine youth Symposium

Open to Grade 11 and 12 students who have an interest in global issues. Symposium is commemorating the tenth anniversary of the Ottawa treaty that banned the production and use of landmines. Manitoba Cooperative Council (Co-op Youth Leadership Program)

Is holding their annual Co-op Youth Leadership Seminars from November 22-25, 2007 and May 1-4, 2008. This event will be at the Riding Mountain Conference Centre near Clear Lake. This seminar is open to students aged 15-18 years old and encourage students to play an active role in their leadership development process.

Leadercon '08 (Organized by the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce)

A conference for students to provide their insight on what keeps young people like them in Winnipeg. In addition, giving students the opportunity to provide their insight on a new initiative aimed at young people in Manitoba. May 2008

Forum

A week long educational program that allows high school students to learn about Canada's systems of government and explore their role in natural leadership and governance in the Nation's Capital. Qualified students are nominated by their schools, and nominations are due November 15, 2007. There are four sessions each year. Students can apply online at www.forum.ca

Liwayway High School Conference

In its ongoing campaign to bring Phillippine studies and promote Filipino culture within Canada, the Liwayway High School conference will take place Friday, May 23, 2008 at University of Winnipeg. Participants will immerse themselves in the theme of "Language and Culture" and spend on day learning about the role literature had to play in the development of Filipino culture. Free registration and lunch is provided. Interested students in grades 10-12 can express their interest to Ms. Scott or Malissa in Student Services. Visit www.anak.ca for details.

Queen's University National Technology Youth Conference

A 4 day conference devoted to technology, engineering, and leadership. Conference takes place at the Queen's University Campus in Kingston Ontario, May 13-17, 2008.

students and space is often limited. Express your interest ASAP.
