It is the responsibility of every person in École Garden Grove School to ensure that our school is a safe place to teach and learn and to promote the development of responsible and positive behaviour.

During the 2007-2008 school year, all will respect and live by:

École Garden Grove School
Rights and Responsibilities

Everyone at Ecole Garden Grove School has the right to a safe and positive learning environment.  For this to happen, everyone’s responsibility is to follow the school rules.

1.  Everyone will be at school and prepared to work every day.

2. Everyone will walk in the school in a quiet and safe way.

3. Everyone will show respect for all personal and school property (remember:  hats off, no gum and no seeds).

4. Everyone will act, speak, and write respectfully.

5. All people will keep their hands and feet to themselves.  (At no time is play fighting or wrestling an acceptable option for a game.)

6.  Snow stays on the ground.

7.  Wheels stay off the playground during school hours.

The bottom line for all persons in Ecole Garden Grove School is that they will be safe when they come to school and they will be able to teach and learn in a respectful community.  If there are actions or words that hurt another individual, there will be consequences for those actions.  School administration, adults involved with the student(s), the student(s) and parents, as well as the nature of the event will determine the consequences

There are consequences for inappropriate behavior choices that assist students in becoming more      mature, self disciplined citizens, responsible for their own actions.  Everyone deserves to be treated fairly, constructively and with understanding.  Every effort will be made to keep the consequences directly related to the child’s behaviour.  We all make mistakes.  It is our social responsibility to fix the mistakes we make and not repeat them.

Good communication is essential between home and school if students are to develop and mature       intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally.  Encouraging a student’s positive behaviour requires a continuous and cooperative effort by both parents and teachers.  If situations arise parents will be contacted.  Parental support is critical to the success of our students.
