Welcome, on behalf of the École Garden Grove School Parent Council.
The Parent Council meetings are
usually held
the 3rd Monday evening every month where you get the
opportunity to meet other parents, the principal, Mr.
Sutherland, along with
other teachers. We hear reports from the Parent
Council President, the
School Administrators, the Lunch Program Supervisor, Treasurer, Fundraiser Coordinator,
North District Advisory Committee Representative, and the French Immersion
Advisory Committee Representative.
We discuss upcoming events that the
parent council is involved with, such as the “Meet the Teacher
Evening” in September and the “Walk for Books” in June. With these events
and other fundraising activities, the parent council is able to help the school
purchase items not funded by the school division. For example
in past years we were
able to help in the success of the school plays by purchasing cordless
microphones and other sound equipment.
Child care is also provided in a
classroom by former students who have taken the baby-sitting course.
A light snack is available for the
children.
