It should be noted that many professional faculties have a limit on the number of students they register each year. The academic average for admissions to professional faculties varies from year to year depending on the demand. As a rule, the minimum average in the required Manitoba High School courses has increased over the last few years.

Faculties such as Dentistry, Medicine, Law, Management (Business) and Social Work admit students after they have studied at the University in another faculty. The average for admission to this group is based on the average attained at University, not on the high school average. See a counsellor for more details or visit the following web sites:

University of Winnipeg

At this time the University of Winnipeg continues to accept all high school students who qualify for admission to Arts or Science programs so that there are no cut-off averages that determine whether a student will be accepted. However, a student applying late may be unable to get the courses they request. Applicants to Education at the University of Winnipeg will be required to apply by April 1, and have a 60% (C) average on their required “4S” courses.  For further information visit thier web site at: www.uwinnipeg.ca
