All students are invited to participate.

We meet every two weeks, alternating between lunch hours and E slot class times. The meeting schedule is as follows:   Sept 26, noon,     Oct 10, E Slot,     Oct 25, noon,   Nov 8 E Slot,   Nov 19, noon,   Dec 5, E Slot.

EVENTS & ACTIVITIES

  • On October 17 we involved the whole school in a STAND UP SPEAK OUT event where the whole school stood up for a minute and recited a poverty pledge. We were part of an attempt to set a new world record for the most people standing up for a cause in a 24 hour period. Makepovertyhistory is the group behind this event, and we hope to break last year's record of 49,000 Canadians and 23.5 million people worldwide participating in this event.

  • Sign the petition about student friendly spaces and our Healthy Food Policy in our school (posted on bulletin board outside the office).

  • State your opinions about important issues at Churchill High School on our Opinion Board (by the office).

  • Holiday Fundraising:  Each class is invited to assemble school kits for children in developing countries. As well we are planning a specific fundraising event to purchase AIDS kits. Stay tuned for more details.

Stay posted for meeting times in the New Year.
