17th Wing Military Air Base
Whytewold RoadThe military air force is one reason why many people come to Winnipeg. It has multiple recreational facilities as well as the standard operational ones. A few of the recreational services are the Building 90 pool, gym, and exercise room, the Northside Military Chapel and Westwin Community Centre. A few others are the theatre, golf course, Wood Working Club, baseball diamonds, library and the 17 Wing Day Care located in Westwin Community Centre. An annual event for 17 Wing is the 435 Squadron picnic held at the hanger or Assiniboine Park.
