The
Adolescent Parent Centre
The
Adolescent Parent Centre (APC) is a special school in Winnipeg School
Division for young women who are pregnant or have babies that are
two years old or younger. APC operates as a satellite program of
the Winnipeg Adult Education
Centre (WAEC).
September
2011/2012 Registration
Drop into the school to pick up a registration package.
Then, read the following to make sure you have everything
needed to complete it.
1.
Registration will
take place on September 7 and 8 at 10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and
Sept. 9 at 10:00 a.m. Bring your completed
package at any of these times. The registration process takes over
an hour, so plan on being at the school for that amount of time.
2. If you
are under 18 or in care, your parent or legal guardian/worker
needs to sign the registration forms. Students in care must also
have their legal guardian complete a Student in Care form.
2. Please
have proof of identity and current address: Manitoba Medical Card,
Child Tax Credit Summary, etc.
3. Mothers
– if your baby is not recorded on your medical card, please
bring in your parent’s medical card.
4. If you
do not live within the area of the Winnipeg School Division, you
need to fill in a School of Choice Form. If you are under 18,
your parent/legal guardian/worker must sign this as well.
5. If you
have credits from another school division, bring your last report
card or transcript showing the credits you have achieved to date
or ask your former school to fax this to APC. APC Fax # 783-4365.
6. If you have any workers (CFS, support,
probation, EIA, Band contact, etc.), please make sure you have
included their names, phone and fax numbers and your case number,
if applicable, on the registration forms.
7. Please have the names and current
phone numbers of at least one emergency adult contact on the
registration form.
***If
any of the necessary information is not included or received,
your
registration will be delayed for at least two weeks.***
Registration
does not guarantee acceptance as a student at APC.
You
will be notified as soon as possible if you are accepted or not.
